The committee deciding on the Excellence and Leadership Award has received many very worthy applications from students who were outstanding in many ways. The ultimate decision was difficult to come to, and it was decided to give the award not to one but to three students.
The winners of the 2025 EPS Excellence and Leadership Award are:
Juliette Herman has shown herself to be an exemplary student. She has obtained extremely high marks for her curricular and extracurricular work. More importantly, she has played a number of supportive roles in the programme and engaged extensively with the wider world through volunteering and joining various organisations in which she has found plenty of recognition for the quality of her contributions.
Leonie Nienhaus has excelled in many ways in particular through her role as Student representative, being behind the student led social media team, and her engagement with worthwhile initiatives outside of the programme. Her course work has also been very good and included some extracurricular work.
Kateřina Skálová has shown that coming from a less obvious disciplinary background can be very successfully overcome. She has also shown an impressive commitment to causes in and outside the programme, both in a formal and informal way, which has enhanced the lives of students and others alike.
In lieu of the above the committee decided to divide the award, with 50 % going to Juliette and 25 % both to Leonie and Kateřina.
