The committee deciding on the Excellence and Leadership Award has received many very worthy applications from students who were outstanding in many ways. The ultimate decision was difficult to come to, and it was decided to give the award not to one but to two students.
The winners of the 2024 EPS Excellence and Leadership Award are:
Tamar Zuurveld who has been an exemplary student and shown true leadership. She has been outstanding in her role as student representative ensuring that their concerns were heard and brought to the attention of the Management Board and addresses as much as possible. Besides this she has engaged with society and tried to contribute in a small way to a better and more peaceful world. All this did not affect her academic work which has been excellent too.
Hsu Po-Yen has been a very good student, who clearly stands out when it comes to engagement in the academic life, as well as his leadership potential. He not only does not shy away from doing extracurricular work, but challenges himself constantly with additional learning opportunities. Despite that (or perhaps because of that), his academic record keeps improving. His aspirations as a future leader are also very much visible and already recognised at the university level.
In lieu of the above the committee decided to divide the award, with 60 % going to Tamar and 40 % to Hsu.
