ACADEMIC EVENT SECTION

#1: Research Seminar on EU studies

Pompeu Fabra University invites you to the 5th edition of the conference on EU studies which will gather more than 15 experts in European Union affairs from different Spanish universities. The event takes place on June 19, 2023, at 9:30 AM onsight (Room 24.426, UPF) and online (ZOOM). The event represents an opportunity for gathering EU Studies-dedicated academics from a variety of backgrounds to present the results of their last papers. Find more information at the UPF website.

#2: Conference on EU Accession to the ECHR

The Liverpool Law School will host a conference on the latest developments concerning EU accession to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) which will take place on July 14-15, 2023. This conference will explore the proposed accession agreement as well as the future opportunities and challenges facing both the EU and the ECHR legal orders.

Attendance (in person or via zoom) is free but subject to the registration via this link where you might also find the provisional programme of the event.

The Verbena and the Festival of Sant Juan

The summer is coming which means that one of the most celebrated Barcelona fiestas, Revetlla de Sant Joan, is around the corner. Be sure to attend the Sant Juan Night on June 23 when the city will not sleep.

Summer School on British Foreign Policy after Brexit

The Centre for Britain and Europe welcomes you to join us for the Summer School: British Foreign Policy after Brexit. The two-day event takes place on July 13-14, 2023 at University of Surrey (United Kingdom) and it is open to undergraduates, postgraduates, and PhD researchers. High-profile speakers from interesting institutions include Professor Simon Usherwood (Open University and CBE research associate), Professor Richard Whitman (University of Kent and Chatham House), Professor Sarah Wolff (Queen Mary University), Professor Christopher Hill (University of Cambridge) and Professor Gianfranco Baldini (University of Bologna and CBE research associate). Topics such as: Global Britain After Brexit, UK-EU relations, as well as European Security and Cooperation will be discussed. The event is free to attend, and we have travel grants for PhD students.

#1: EPS runs the marathon!

EPS students and one brave academic of ours participated in Leiden Marathon! Congratulations to all who participated and thank you all for the support on the track! See more on the EPS twitter!

#2: Joint online research seminar

The very first edition of the joint online research seminar organized for the 1st-year students took place on May 31! We enjoyed fruitful discussions over MA thesis proposals and we are looking forward to seeing the progress of our students very soon.

When do I receive Erasmus+ funding in my bank account?

Once all the documents are ready, the Rectorate of Charles University will invite you to sign the Erasmus+ agreement (usually during summer). The signature must be done in person either by you or a person you appoint with a power of attorney. Once signed, the funding will be transferred to the indicated bank account within a few days.
